SkyWheel Myrtle Beach

The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is the most recognizable landmark on the entire Grand Strand — a 200-foot observation wheel that towers above the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk like a beacon of coastal fun. When it opened in 2011, it was the first of its kind in the United States. Riders board one of 42 fully enclosed, climate-controlled gondolas — each seating up to six adults — for four breathtaking rotations approximately 20 stories above the Atlantic Ocean. On clear days, views reportedly stretch 40 miles in every direction. The slanted glass panels are designed to eliminate reflections, making it perfect for photography. General admission tickets include four full revolutions lasting about 12 minutes. For a premium experience, the VIP gondola features cushioned leather seats, a glass floor for 360-degree views, and priority boarding. After dark, the SkyWheel is transformed by one million LED lights cycling through a rainbow of color patterns visible from miles up the beach.
